Handsome double in Hong Kong

The Longtze Premier won the Lipton Trophy and the Loro Piana Around The Island Race, during the 22-23 November 2008 regatta in Hong Kong. A remarkable double victory.

80 boats on the Lipton Trophy start line, 200 on the Loro Piana Around The Island Race, it is enough to say that there was plenty of activity on the water last weekend in Hong-Kong.  Three Longtze Premiers and their teams participated in two regattas.

The Lipton Trophy and the Loro Piana Around The Island Race are two annual Hong Kong extremely precise and popular regattas. They are two of the islands biggest nautical gatherings definiteyly not to be missed.  The first takes place in front of the Hong Kong Yacht Club, and the second around the island.

“Saturday, for the Lipton Trophy, the Longtze's were well leading the fleet, leaving behind the Magic 25’s and the new Melges 20. We won in real and compensated time.The Sunday, for the around the Island Race, we were 2nd in real time, 9 minutes behind a TP52, in real time, we beat them by 12 minutes in compensated time. This double victory is the fruit of our regular sailing in Hong-Kong. Our teams are on the water every weekend on Longtze's” explained Thierry Barot who steered the winning boat.

The Longtze Premier series has won the two regattas, making a sensation on the water and on land!  The boats will be training in Hong-Kong the next three weekends, before leaving for their circuit of Asiatic regattas.
