Assembly of the Mast

Longtze is equipped with a two part mast and double spreaders.

For ease of transport, the Longtze mast is delivered in two parts.

Assembly description

This operation is carried out only one time. Following initial assembly, the mast is transported on top of the boat being trailered.

  • Identify the three halyard messenger lines before assembling the two parts of the mast:

    • jib halyard

    • mainsail halyard

    • spinnaker Halyard

  • Verify that the order is identical for each section of the mast.
  • Attach the messengers one by one respecting the color codes above and keeping the stickers attached so as to avoid “twists” between the unattached messengers. This operation is important to ensure the free movement of the halyards inside the mast. If need be, to verify the messengers are “clear”, don't hesitate to unmount the cover at the head of the mast.

  • Slide the “sleeve” up to the positioning bolt, bolt rope groove should line up from top to bottom.

  • Connect, one by one, each halyard to its messenger and pass the halyards through the mast, tying knots at both ends when finished.

  • Put the mainsail and jib halyards on the supplied bags.

  • Identify the spreaders.

  • Identify the shrouds and their positions.
